Around 200 people attended a public forum on the planned cathode materials plant investment in the Gárdonyi Géza Primary School in Acs on 3 October. Bamo Technology Hungary Kft. was also invited to the public forum, which was announced at the August meeting of the Ács Municipality, and Ferenc Fülöp, Director of Public Relations and Government Relations, represented the company and tried to answer all the questions.

The nearly two and a half hour long event was opened by the Mayor of Ács, Dr. István Szentirmai, and members of the representative body were also seated on the podium.

The questions, based on the doubts, concerns and lack of information of local residents, did not come as a big surprise, because a few days earlier, Bamo representatives had already answered more than 70 questions at the meeting of the ad hoc working committee of the municipality.

Ferenc Fülöp answered the questions calmly and professionally, stressing that Bamo Technology Hungary Kft. is committed to continuous, accurate and credible information and dialogue. This was probably also the reason why, compared to similar events in recent months, the public forum was held in a relatively civilised tone and in a spirit of mutual respect.

The only questions left unanswered in the forum are those that do not yet have a proper answer at this stage of the project. Among other things, the interested parties were told that Bamo is thinking primarily in terms of a Hungarian workforce, that the factory will have zero industrial wastewater emissions, that it plans to use 100 percent green energy for its operations, that the local water supplier can provide the water needed, and that the world-class closed-chain production technology used is safe and does not pose a threat to the environment. In line with the latter, Bamo is ready to monitor and control environmental (water, air, groundwater) values continuously with an independent, accredited expert.

Before and after the public forum, residents can ask questions by letter, email or using the mailbox on the wall of the municipality. Bamo has and will continue to answer all questions and will continue to participate in the work of the working committee, where it will keep you informed about the progress of the project.
